Kogi Tribunal Judgement: I Have No Opponent, Abiodun Faleke Is My Brother – Yahaya Bello
Following
the tribunal ruling and his victory, the Governor of Kogi state,
Alhaji Yahaya Bello has said that he has no opponent within the party,
All Progressive Congress (APC), stating that Abiodun Faleke soughts
explanation from the court and court has given the explanation to him.
Yahaya Bello disclosed this at Highland Government House, Lokoja while briefing journalists on his landslide victory on Monday.
He said, “you cannot have
opponent within the party: this particular is a judgement between me and
my brother Hon. Abiodun Faleke. Faleke is not my opponent, we belong to
the same party and its just an explanation that he sought from the
court and court has given the explanation to him”.
He advised those that seeks and promote disaffection within the party to drop the idea and come unit the party and the state.
The
governor also said there are a lot to be done in the state, urging
those that felt hurt to join hands with him, bring their ideas forward.
Bello
urged the people of Kogi to be patient as he is determine to work,
adding that a lot has gone bad in the past, they cannot fix every thing
within one year.
He
maintained that though it will take time to fix, his administration
will make sure that all the wrong things done in the past are corrected.
On the recent appointment of
the commissioners that largely centred on youths, he said usually they
were referred to as leaders of tomorrow but this day God has given them
that leadership.
However, Bello emphasized that
his victory is a general victory for Kogites, maintaining that the
people of Kogi expected a lot from him haven received much from the
people. He pleads for patience.
He
thanked God for his victory. He said, “I thank Almighty God for today
being the first day of our Holy month of Ramadan and today is the
confirmation that this divine mandate from Almighty Allah that I, a
common person is holding in trust for the good people of Kogi state is
really divine. I have no doubt in my mind that we are going to have
victory”
“It is a victory to the people of Kogi state, it is a victory for our party”, he said
